SKH “Under the Tent” Rib Fest

Last summer after picking up a few items at the Stauffers of Kissel Hill in Roherstown, I walked by their “Tent” in the parking lot and got a whiff of something wonderful smoking on the grill. Ribs. I rarely eat ribs, but for whatever reason I couldn’t resist on that day. I jumped in line and bought myself an order of ribs and a baked potato. It was fantastic. Ever since that experience, I keep an eye on their weekly menu and stop by on occasion.

When I saw Rib fest was  on the schedule for this past weekend, I made a point to stop by. The line (Roherstown store) was about 20 people deep. I usually wouldn’t bother waiting in such a line, but I was famished after a 6 mile afternoon and had only eaten a banana for lunch. The line moved pretty quickly and I grabbed a full rack of ribs and headed home. I fully expected the meal to last me until lunch the next day but, nope… I polished off the first half of the rack and most of the potato pretty quickly. After a brief pause, I went back for the other half and the rest of the potato.

The picture quality is pretty lousy… I guess I was too hungry to steady the camera.
